The cast is obviously having a fantastic time, working extremely closely together and playing off each other brilliantly.

The teaming of the two leads is great, but it's the ensemble cast that works so well, whether it's Becket's colleagues or Castle's matriachal family that raise this above the usual buddy cop show.

The murders themselves are a little formulaic, but I really didn't have a problem with that because I was enjoying the banter way too much to worry about that and the premise is a little far fetched, what with the cops allowing a civilian complete access to crime scenes and allowed in on interviews, but as I said, you can forgive that kind of thing when you realize this is meant to entertain and is not trying to be "The Wire" or something like that!

So, give it a try if you don't mind watching a cop show that isn't taking itself too seriously. Fabulous tv series!!! I watched the first series on channel 5 and was hooked immediatly with the qureky characters, funny story lines and believable chemistry between the Castle and Beckett.

First series sadly only 10 episodes long and I couldn't wait for series 2 to start in the UK so decided to buy on DVD. Full 5 star rating for the seller; arrived extremely quickly, well within estimated delivery date, brand new and Region 1 discs as described.

I didn't appreciate that Region 1 requires a different set up for UK viewing so to my immense disappointment the DVD didn't work for me but not to be discouraged will now order a Region 2 DVD which can be viewed on UK systems and I look forward to my Castle fix soon.

I bought this series for my daughter's birthday. She absolutely loves the show. It is very funny, has great plot lines, with a simmering attraction between Beckett and Castle.

The bonus feature is excellent - - great bloopers. I bought this DVD for my husband who is a Castle fan. Season One was so enjoyable I've already ordered Season Two!
