If you are that sort of person, you won't be disappointed in it. Thing is massive. The instructions actually have images to show you how to properly lift it and move it around.
I clocked roughly 21 hrs total build time. I'm not sure if that's fast or slow. Make sure you not only have somewhere spacious to build it but also somewhere in mind to put it before starting.
One look at the manual see pic when you take it out of the box and you'll get an idea of what you're in for.
I won this hunk of junk in a card game. Fastest ship in the galaxy if you ask me. Has panels for hiding stuff from Imperial inspections and the seats in the cockpit recline a good amount.
Easily meets the advertised 12 parsec jump time. A word of warning, the box this thing ships in is massive, it barely fit in my trunk.
I opened up the shipping box to find another box, and inside that box was yet another box, and inside that box was four more boxes.
Each of the four boxes contained like 15 bags of pieces, the boxes were not packaged by stage, instead i had to sort through all four.
I started around on a friday. Im still not done, but coming up on about 18 hours. If you are like me and grew up with legos and love star wars, but only got the sets that your parents could afford to get you but always coveted the big expensive ones, then this is definitely up your alley.
Time consuming, fun to build, and incredibly detailed. I had been waiting for this thing to be available for about 8 months, and as soon as i saw it was in stock, i jumped on it.
The only dilemma i have right now is where i am going to put it. If you are a parent, and thinking about buying this for your kids, think twice because this is NOT a toy.
I have two kids but bought this for myself. It would definitely be a great family build project though. This build has so far been tedious, but an absolute blast and i cant wait for the finished product!
This kit is huge. It took my 3 boys and me over 18 days to complete it on a part-time basis. We took out time building it because we enjoy the entire build process.
It is pretty cool the way it's designed. It has a Techniques internal frame and the armor plates rest on top of the frame.
I wish they designed the armor plates to attach to the frame to make it a stress bearing piece and adding to the overall rigidity of the model but alas they did not.
When you finally place all the armor on top of the frame it will cause the frame to flex hence you cannot just pick up the model but you will have to carry it a certain way if you want to move it.
Of course I'm just nit-picking, make no mistake this is an awesome model and an engineering miracle. I love it and it's totally worth it.
For anticipation, fun, family time and shear WOW factor, this product gets a 5 of 5! Since we all love it, why a 4 of 5 then?
Getting into the few usable spaces is also not so user-friendly. That said, we still love it! It was much bigger than I thought it was despite knowing how many pieces there were.
I ended up working on it for about an hour each day after work and it's been a ton of fun. There are so many small details that just haven't existed on this level before on Legos and while I had been a bit hesitant to spend the money on this at first, I can say that it was more than worth it.
There is a sense of pride and accomplishment to seeing it slowly take shape and when it's finally done, it's almost sad because the work is over.
Can't wait for the next Ultimate Star Wars Lego set. Once again the designers did a great job externally, but they simply didn't listen to the public or watched the films maybe.

How many bits? Easy This is a great set and a long complicated build. Once built it is problematic. It is delicate to move, heavy and no matter how careful bits fall off.
I think the high brick number is reached by including hundreds of small bits just added on the outsides.
Because of its size this is not a playset, it is too unweldly and fragile. I had to customise an ikea coffee table to make a home for it.
But where to put it is something to consider before you buy. It is a challenging build and looks great. Like all Lego falcons getting inside without things becoming loose is an issue.

You can really tell artists created it and that there was true passion behind the project. I bought it to take a break from technology, computer and phone screens all day.
It's a great emotional relief. It makes me focus on a task instead of stressing about day-to-day troubles at work or home.
I don't know how you can NOT give this five stars! If you can get your hands on this set, get it! It is the largest production set ever!

The largest Lego set possible! This is truly an epic Lego set with hours This was a very involved and fun set to put together. Definitely a collector.
I used this set to help keep me busy while I quit smoking cigarettes. It took me about 9 days or close to 55 hours to put together.
It's extremely detailed and accurate. I wish there were more huge Lego Star Wars sets. This made an amazing present for my husband.
I was quite hesitant to buy him such a large set, fearing he'd find it too excessive. He did not. He loved it. If there are any other questioning wives out there, I'd highly recommend pulling the trigger and buying it.
Heads up - the thing is huge! As a wife, I think this is an outrageous waste of money but my husband very much enjoyed it.

Upon seeing this for the first time, I was blown away with the size and weight of the box, It was a huge experience unboxing.
Once you start building the structural engineering in this build is so impressive, a lot of time went into making this set.

Micky6 So my build started when I bought the the 20th anniversary Slave 1 and was hooked, I had mountains of Lego as a kid but that stopped until last year.
So after months of trying to justify a way of paying this amount I finally came to the conclusion that this would actually be a legacy for my grandkids when they visited as they would always remember Grandad with the massive spaceship made of bricks so that swayed me to get it plus unexpectedly I received a large bonus from work.
Opening the Ikea size box was just the start of one of the best weeks in my life. I read most of the reviews on here before hand so decided to take my time and enjoy the build as was probably never do this again.
Took me about 30 hours to piece together over 7 days, no major problems at all and no bricks missing. Instructions were faultless and whilst I made a couple of mistakes was easy to find and rectify.
I added the stand, lights and case which this set definitely deserves and now sits proudly in my front room and fills me with so much joy when I see everyone's jaw drop when they catch eye of the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy!!

Build Time: 7 days. January 27th, The Greatest Lego Set Ever. Nattheknife I had been waiting for almost 4 months to buy this set when it was finally available for purchase on the lego website.
Living in Australia, there is very limited opportunity to purchase it, as we don't have any lego stores and eBay charge twice as much.
Yet when it finally came I realised the Falcon was worth every bit of the effort I went through to get it.
I built the beauty over the course of a week, and thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. It was incredible to build and I can't remember ever having more fun with lego building.
The final model is incredible. I really didn't understand how big it was until I had finished building myself and its immense!
It is enormously detailed and I love that it comes with the crews from two trilogies. I finally have a detailed model of the most iconic ship from Star Wars and the design of it is fantastic.
The features are superb and I love that they have included a few interior rooms to increase its playability, although thats pretty limited by the weight of it.
It was a pleasure to build and just looks great. I strongly recommend it to anyone who likes star wars lego.
Easily worth the price. My one criticism would probably be that there is this big bit of space inside at the back which I think could have been made into another room without compromising structural integrity in any way, but its only a minor complaint.
Overall I love it.
