Idea: a series of boxes filled with materials that are found on the site in Broughty Ferry rock, stones, wood, vegetation, water, sand, etc.
Each box is a different size and are able to rotate on an axis. By turning the boxes, the material inside the boxes changes.
This way a process of change is created where the materials transform and constantly form something different. The 'landscape' in the larger box would change slower, and the 'landscape' in the smaller boxes change quicker.
I imagine the largest cube to be around 20cm x 20cm x 20cm, and the smallest one 5cm x 5cm x 5cm. This might change depending on availability of materials, buildability and cost.
I would photograph the Thinking Machine at different stages, starting before the material in the boxes have been rotated, and then photographing after every degree rotation.
The result would be creating a landscape through process. Starting with 'something', and looking at how that landscape changes.
There is no 'final product', but hopefully valuable conclusions can be drawn from this process. Personal Influences: British Columbia, Canada.
Whistler, Canada. The process of the slow geological change of mountain formations becomes very clear when driving through the mountains in British Columbia.
Here, large parts of the mountain have been sliced away to allow for the highway to pass along it. Vancouver, Canada.
It consists of small rocks balanced on top of each other, in this case marking good fishing spots. Here a form of land art is created using the existing materials and creating a sense of place.

In only an hour, all the buildings are covered and great sense of orientation is lost. In the morning the fog moves back towards the ocean leaving the city back in it's original setting.
This process is influenced by the climate conditions and the San Francisco's close proximity to the Pacific Ocean.
The change in landscape is drastic due to this process. Personal Influences: Ocean Beach, California. It was my first time.
I was really excited. I went with my mom and my grandma. The only thing I could do was sleep or watch TV. My favorite show on the plane was Mad 34 and I wish I could find those shows in stores and other places.
That would be cool. I didn't like the food on the plane. It tasted really bad and it was spicy. I don't like spicy food. The other thing that I really didn't like was the bathrooms.
They were small and they sucked because they were so dirty and people went to the bathroom on the floor. We landed in Mumbai, it used to be called Bombay.
It looked really yucky and it smelled really bad. But it was kind of better than JFK which was even worse. When we got to the MPR it was really cool, and I mean cool.
There was a breeze everywhere you went. If you went there you would love it, too. After a few days, I started really liking to play on their really cool playground.
It was mostly because it was fun, but i t was also because there were no other kids to play with. Occasionally Pia would come over to the MPR. Pia is the daughter of people who live in India.
She was only three years old and she wanted everything her way. Her five year old friend would be a little bit better to play with, but go figure, she couldn't talk English.
Then one day at dinner time, I meet a five year old named Genvieve and she was intelligent and really nice. I played Scrabble with her, her mom, her dad, and I think her grandpa.
They were a really nice family. I had a play date with Genevieve. I taught her how to make an Origami tree. We wrote little things inside of them. Outside of them we drew little designs.
Then she left for ten days with her mom and dad. A few days after they left, I meet an 18 year old! She was really nice. Mostly everybody's nice in India.
Some of their food I liked. All the things we have in America. I really liked it there. Driving there is really different from driving here.
It was also waaaay crowded there. They had lots of trains, too. The roads were bumpy. I saw Meher Baba's Tomb and his home in Meherazad. I also saw his childhood bedroom in Pune.
Baba's pink bedroom and his home in Meherazad was pretty. There were a lot of ants on the floor in Baba's tomb. The ants were really big.

The way it sits tells us how it came to be there. The energy and space around a rock is as important as the energy and space within.
The weather; rain, sun, snow, hail, mist, calm, is that external space made visible. Sometimes a work is at its best when most threatened by the weather.
A balanced rock given enormous tension and force by a wind that might cause its collapse. I have worked with colorful leaves, delicate grasses and feathers made extra vivid by a dark rain-laden sky that casts no shadow.

We follow Meher Baba. He' s the god in human form that came about years ago. He's buried in India, so we went there.
