The camera work through out is unfortunately shabby, he doesn't seem to hit a filmatic rhythm in the camera work at all. Not to mention the lens flares, although popularised in Easy Rider during the Hollywood New Wave they aren't seemingly intentional.

At one point during the film, there is a great classic Braff moment where the mise en scene makes a thematic point that just blows you away The leaflet shot but this does little to redeem the other problems.

It feels as if Braff has a strong vision but it doesn't come across in this film. It seems to be lost in a mess of intertwined themes and some seriously good ideas and terrible ones.

This film doesn't really make a point like Garden State, it kinda loses its self upon the way.

It tries to make some serious points about dreams and the pursuit of happiness through the CGI spacemen scenes.
